Bolster is a MSMO (a mostly self-managing organization), and as such roles and responsibilities can change over time. Our quarterly planning balances business needs with each team member’s strengths and goals to create an environment focused on execution and growth. The MSMO only works effectively when people communicate and collaborate effectively and are agile in their approach to work.

About the role

  • Location: New York City area, in office 2-3 days per week
  • Full-time

In this role, you’ll partner with the Bolster CFO and Finance leader to have a broad impact in the Bolster finance and operations teams. .

What you’ll be doing

  • Accounting- work with the Bolster team and outsourced bookkeeper to produce monthly accounting statements, accounts payable, invoicing, and other areas of accounting.
  • Finance - assist other teams in Bolster in making great decisions by providing key financial reports including profit & loss analysis, key performance indicators and operating metrics. Also work with our business intelligence tool, Quicksight, to produce dashboards and data analytics.
  • Operations - work with the marketing and sales functions in order to ensure accurate data and workflows in our HubSpot CRM and other assorted operation processes.
  • Company Projects - ad-hoc projects with the rest of the Bolster team as needed .

What you bring to the role:

  • Basic Accounting knowledge including working with a chart of accounts, profit & loss and balance sheet.
  • An enjoyment of numbers and understanding how analysis can help tell a story to help make great decisions.
  • Strong orientation towards action and results.
  • Organization - able to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines with an effective self management framework.
  • You are naturally curious and enjoy learning about new industries and technologies and want to establish a strong foundation for the rest of your career.
  • Be comfortable in a (mostly) self-managed startup environment. We’re looking for someone smart, savvy and super scrappy who understands how to experiment.
  • Technically capable and a desire to improve processes.

Compensation, Benefits and Equity

  • The money part - This is a full-time salaried position and the target compensation range for this role is $60,000-80,000 depending on the expertise and experience you bring.
